Wolves striker Niall Ennis is in advanced talks to join Plymouth Argyle, Football Insider understands.

The Premier League club are prepared to loan out Ennis, 20, this summer so that he can continue his development with regular first-team football.

A Wolves source has told Football Insider that Ennis is well down the pecking order in Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans and the manager has given the green light for him to go on loan for the 2019-20 campaign.

A number of Football League clubs have made enquiries about taking Ennis on loan for next season, but League Two Plymouth are in pole position to land the England Under-19 international.

Ennis is highly regarded at Molineux and he made his debut for the club in an FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury last season.

The rising star, who has come through the ranks at Wolves to be capped by England at Under-19, Under-18s and Under-17s levels, had a spell out on loan at Shrewsbury in 2017 but his stint was cut short by serious injury.

Ennis has battled back from two serious injuries in his career and he has been a regular scorer for Wolves’ Under-23s side.

In other Wolves news, it can be REVEALED that Nuno has given the green light for the exit of Molineux 25-year-old wanted by multiple clubs.
