Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Estoril ace Jordan Holsgrove this summer transfer window.

The Old Gold club have reportedly enquired about the 26-year-old midfielder’s availability this summer.

The Portuguese club values the former Scotland youth international at £3million this transfer window.

On top of Wolves, Championship rivals Charlton Athletic and German outfits Werder Bremen, FC Augsburg and Hamburg have also been linked with a move.

The West Midlands club are in need of a new midfielder after Joao Gomes moved to Aston Villa last week.

Cesar Peixoto’s side have made three first-team signings to date as they look to make an instant return to the Premier League.

What are Jordan Holsgrove’s stats?

According to Fotmob on 27 July, Holsgrove has some excellent stats from the 2025-26 campaign.

The midfielder played 33 matches in Liga Portugal last season, as he helped Estoril finish 10th in the top-flight.

Holsgrove was critical to this, with his creativity being a clear highlight throughout the campaign.

Per 90 minutes, he averaged 1.14 shots, 0.22 assists, 4.16 accurate long balls, 1.68 chances created, 0.38 big chances created, and a 26.6 per cent successful crossing rate.

With Wolves’ squad begging for a new creative midfielder this summer, the addition of Holsgrove could prove to be a masterclass.

Given that the Record believes that Estoril will part with the 26-year-old for £3m this summer, it could be the perfect bargain buy for the Old Gold this summer to help them make an instant return to the Premier League.

Can Wolves make an instant return to the Premier League?

Wolves have no doubt made a gamble this summer.

After seemingly preparing for life in the Championship since November, the club sacked Rob Edwards for Peixoto, and potentially ended plenty of transfer plans.

As it stands, most of the squad that finished bottom of the Premier League last season are still at Molineux, and the club have made little to no moves in the transfer window for weeks.

Therefore, the club are no doubt taking another gamble, potentially leaving all their transfer business until the last minutes, something that has not worked in recent years.

However, it remains to be seen if this will affect Wolves’ promotion chances, with the side still one of the favourites to finish in the top two come the end of the season.
