'World class' - Exclusive: Hutton blown away by Aston Villa player 'Worth his weight in gold'

Alan Hutton showered Aston Villa goalkeeper Tom Heaton with praise following Villa’s 4-1 loss to Leicester City.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the ex-Villans right-back claimed that Heaton had made some world class saves recently to stop his side suffering heavier defeats.

The Villans lost 4-1 to Leicester City on Sunday with the loss seeing them slip to 17th in the Premier League table.

Hutton claimed Heaton has been worth his weight in gold recently before sharing that he was worried about how many chances Dean Smith’s side were conceding.

When asked if the loss would have been worse without Heaton to call upon, Hutton told Football Insider: “Oh definitely.

“It’s been disappointing as they’ve obviously lost the last two and I think Heaton is worth his weight in gold.

“To be honest he kept the score down in the Chelsea game and the Leicester game as he made some world class saves.

“And the disappointing thing from Villa’s point of view is that they’re giving up to 25 shots a game and against the top teams, they’re going to punish you.

“In the Championship you can get away with it especially if you have a good goalkeeper.

“But if you give up all those opportunities, ultimately you going to lose games.”

Heaton has featured a total of 15 times across all competitions for Villa this season, keeping three clean sheets while conceding 23 goals in the process.

The 33-year-old arrived at Villa Park in the summer after joining from Burnley with the Villans opting to spend £8million on acquiring his services.
