Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored an absolutely stunning goal to put Liverpool 2-0 up in the Champions League quarter-final at Anfield on Wednesday night and send their fans into delirium.

The 24-year-old, who signed from Arsenal for £34million in the summer, has had a stuttering start to his Liverpool career, but there have been signs recently that he's finding his feet.

And he paid back a huge chunk of his transfer fee tonight with a thunderbolt of a strike that rifled past the Man City goalie before he knew what was happening, after Mohamed Salah had opened the scoring.

It stunned Man City, who were the favourites going into the game and who had started brightly.

It got worse as well, with a Sadio Mane goal making the half-time score an almost unbelievable 3-0 to Liverpool.

And, although there's a long way to go, it gives Liverpool a huge advantage with a quarter of the two-legged quarter-final gone.
