Jamie Murphy has confirmed that he wants to join Rangers on a permanent deal when his loan runs out in the summer.

The Scottish Sun claims that talks are ongoing with the winger, on-loan from Premier League Brighton, and that the player is desperate to complete a permanent move.

Asked if he thinks he will be at Rangers next season, Murphy said, "Yes, absolutely.

“I’m already a Rangers player in my mind. People knew how much I wanted this and, to be fair, the manager Chris Hughton was great down at Brighton. He knew I wanted to come.

"I dreamt of playing in Old Firm games. It’s why you play for Rangers, to be involved in games like that."

Football Insider verdict:

Rangers fans will be delighted with the attitude of Jamie Murphy. He's been a hit since arriving at Ibrox in January and the passion to play for Rangers is there for everyone to see. Talks are reportedly ongoing and Mark Allen must complete the deal to bring the player in on a permanent basis. He's already added four assists and two goals in eight Premiership appearances, and he typifies the new Rangers spirit under Graeme Murty.
