Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has launched into a scathing Twitter attack on his old club, laying into the club’s lack of discipline.

The ex-attacker was commenting on a statement from Gunners legend Ian Wright who claimed on BBC Radio 5 live that players were often late for training and had to be taken from their houses in order to attend sessions.

Campbell was horrified to hear the claims made by Wright but admitted that he too had heard similar tales and that it was completely unacceptable.

He wrote on his official Twitter feed: “If this is true then the club are in a lot worse shape than I ever thought! Zero discipline breeds contempt and it is madness.”

And the ex-ace also added: “I’m getting info and the regime at the club leaves a lot to be desired! the tail never wags the dog!!! Madness!!! Players who cannot be bothered should not have the opportunity as there’s plenty who would die for that chance!!! IMHO

Arsenal and Arsene Wenger, in particular, have been on the receiving end of a wrath of criticism following Sunday’s 3-0 defeat against Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

It was a result that has meant that no one at the club has anywhere to hide and there have even been suggestions that the manager’s future might be nearing an end with the Frenchman facing a review at the end of the season.

Carlo Ancelotti and Brendan Rodgers are two names that have been linked with the Arsenal job, that is if the position becomes available – the Northern Irishman already seems to be a very unpopular call.
