Ruben Amorim’s transformation of Manchester United’s frontline is now complete ahead of the new season.

Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 proved a shock to the system both on and off the pitch, with Bruno Fernandes often shifted between midfield and attack and the likes of Alejandro Garnacho displeased with his new role.

Man United have instead been busy on the transfer front with some big-money additions made already, and with their Premier League return date in sight, Amorim's overhaul has taken another massive step.

Man United confirm Benjamin Sesko signing

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo's arrivals from Wolves and Brentford respectively had already raised the quality of player Amorim had to choose from next season, after United's attack stuttered last term.

A return of just 44 Premier League goals quickly looks set to be consigned to the past though, after Man United announced their next signing in the form of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko for a £74million fee.

Sesko arrives at Old Trafford after they beat Newcastle to the Slovenian's signature, and the 22-year-old posted on Instagram (9 August) with a message to Man United's fans after signing a five-year contract.

Sesko said: "When you’re young, you dream big. You imagine moments, stadiums, and shirts you hope will one day be yours. Today, I’m stepping into that dream. Proud to be a Red Devil. Let’s go, Manchester United!"

New team-mate Joshua Zirkzee was the first Man United player to comment, saying "Let's go habibi" despite the fact that Sesko's addition to the frontline could significantly limit his game-time next season.

Zirkzee, Fernandes set for new roles after Sesko signing

Football Insider Verdict

Sesko, Mbeumo and Cunha have all moved to Old Trafford for over £190m combined and add-ons to follow, and United fans will expect all three to spearhead the 3-4-2-1 for their opener against Arsenal.

Fernandes is likely to make a full-time move into Amorim's midfield two, but the trio's arrivals could also spell bad news for Zirkzee, who will face a battle to re-establish a place in the starting XI next term.

Mason Mount starting as a false nine in Man United's friendly against Fiorentina on Saturday highlighted the need for a new striker, and with Rasmus Hojlund left on the bench throughout, Sesko's arrival leaves the writing on the wall for the Red Devils' misfiring Dane.
