Arsenal are going head-to-head with West Ham in the race to sign Juventus star Mario Mandzukic, according to a report.
Italian site Gazzetta World claim that the Gunners will join fellow Londoners West Ham in the hunt for the 30-year-old striker.
It is believed that with the Italian giants bringing Gonzalo Higuain to the club in a big-money move, the Croatian international has found himself further down the pecking order at the club.
However, it is also claimed that Mandzukic is still valued by the Bianconeri, who would be more willing to let Simone Zaza leave the club.
It is believed that Juventus value Mandzukic at £17million.
Mandzukic is under contract with Juventus until 2019 and only joined the club last summer in a £13.8million deal.
The Croatian international arrived from Spain after a disappointing spell at Atletico Madrid, but managed 13 goals in 36 appearances for the Serie A champions last season.
Mandzukic has scored 157 goals in 348 club appearances in a career that has seen him play for Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, as well as in Spain and Italy.
In other West Ham transfer news, the Hammers are looking to tempt Premier League rivals Swansea into selling Andre Ayew by offering Enner Valencia in exchange.
