Liverpool fans have pleaded with their club on Twitter to enter the summer transfer window for Red Bull Leipzig wonderkid Timo Werner.
The 21-year-old has been in electric form this season for Bundesliga’s surprise package Leipzig, who sit second behind leaders Bayern Munich despite only being promoted last term.
Former Stuttgart ace Werner has scored 17 goals in 28 Bundesliga games for Leipzig, and he is renowned for his blistering pace that allows him to glide past opponents with consummate ease.
He added to that tally on Sunday, as Leipzig secured an away 1-1 draw against Schalke at the Veltins Arena.
Liverpool fans are desperate to sign Werner on Twitter, as they look for manager Jurgen Klopp to bring in the kind of talent that will help fire the Reds to a possible 2017-18 title challenge.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
We need a beast striker. Timo werner or lacazette looks fit into klopp's system. #LFC

Watching Leipzig vs Leverkusen. I'd take Brandt, Keita, and Forsberg, but Werner just looks perfect for #LFC. Work-rate is incredible!

Could easily spend £100m shopping at Leipzig this summer. Naby, Werner and Forsberg.

Werner would be a good fit for Klopp and address needing a striker to press like Bobby. He is young enough to develop as well.

Werner has a contract at the Red Bull Arena until the summer of 2020 and is likely to cost a hefty transfer fee if he is to be lured away from Leipzig in the summer.
In other Liverpool transfer news, this midfielder has agreed terms with Klopp’s side.
