Sampdoria sensation Patrik Schick is pushing for a move to Juventus after Tottenham had reached an agreement with his camp over personal terms, according to reports.
Italian newspaper Il Secolo XIX, as quoted by FC Inter 1908, which provides content for sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, claimed this week that the London club has agreed the terms of a contract offer with Schick’s agent Pavel Paska.
But Sky Sports Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed on his personal website that Juventus are now in the driving seat to land the highly rated striker, 21.
It is said that the Serie A champions have held “positive” talks with the player and Paska and that conversations between the parties will continue in Italy next week.
Di Marzio reports that a deal is not yet agreed between Juventus and Schick but it is getting closer as the Champions League finalists leapfrog the competition.
Sampdoria are powerless to keep the dynamic striker if a club triggers the £21.5million release clause in his contract.
The three-times Czech international has attracted interest from Napoli, Roma and Inter Milan, while Tottenham have also been strongly linked in recent weeks as they aim to provide top calibre forward cover for main man Harry Kane.
Schick has caught the eye of Europe’s elite clubs after bagging 13 goals and providing three assists in 33 league and cup appearances for Sampdoria this season.
He has an outstanding goals-per-minutes ratio for the campaign, with his strikes coming every 113 minutes, an excellent return for such a demanding league.
In other Tottenham transfer news, an exit-linked Spurs player has bid farewell to the club in an emotional video on Twitter.
