21-year-old international suffers knee injury amid talks between Tottenham and Euro giants - reliable journalist

By Harvey Byrne

Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez has suffered a knee injury amid talks between Tottenham and the European giants, according to a reliable journalist.

The Daily Mail claimed on Tuesday afternoon that the 21-year-old worked in the gym while his teammates trained outside after informing his coaches that he did not wish to be there.

However, it would now seem that it was an injury that prevented him from training outside after HLN journalist Kristof Terreur claimed on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday that he had suffered a “minor knee injury.”

Despite the injury it doesn’t look to be impacting the deal after Terruer also claimed that Tottenham are confident of getting a deal done and that Mauricio Pochettino has convinced him to make the move across to England.

Tottenham have not yet brought in any players this summer and youngster Sanchez could be the first.

The one-time capped Colombia international would certainly fit the club’s recent ethos of bringing in young players from across Europe before then developing them in the ever-progressive side.

However, with four years also remaining on his contract at Ajax, Sanchez is also likely to command a big fee and Sky Sports Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed on his personal website that a deal could be in place worth a mega £36million.

In other Tottenham transfer news, Spurs are ready to consider offers for this 23-year-old.
