Celtic legend Henrik Larsson is set to return to Parkhead in May next year for a charity match.

Larsson scored 242 goals in 315 appearances in all competitions for Celtic, and the club are ready to welcome back their goalscoring hero.

According to the Daily Record, the 45-year-old will lead a side mixed with celebrities and ex-players against another former Celtic legend, Lubo Moravcik.

Moravcik won two league titles with Celtic, scoring 35 goals from 129 appearances, and played alongside Larsson for a number of years.

Both established themselves as fan-favourites at the club, and are set for an emotional return to their former club.

Larsson told the Daily Record: “Returning to Celtic Park, where I experienced so many career highlights, will be truly special for me and my family.

“Now, attention turns to assembling a team to beat my old friend, Lubo. I’ll be making some calls over the next few months and pulling out all the stops. There is no way I’m losing this one.”

The Sweden icon is currently unemployed, after a spell in charge of Helsingborgs, whom he left in November. Moravcik, meanwhile, is currently the vice-president of the Slovakia football association, and assistant coach at SKF Sered.

The charity match will raise money for the Celtic FC Foundation, and is scheduled to take place at the end of the current season in May.

Further details, including the confirmed line-ups, are to be revealed at a later date.

In other Celtic news, the club could be without this star midfielder when they face Rangers at the end of the month.
