Tottenham has offered midfielder Moussa Sissoko to the reigning La Liga champions FC Barcelona, according to a report.
Don Balon claim Serie A side AC Milan are very interested in signing the 27-year-old French international but it reports that the people closest to the player suggest that he has been offered to Barcelona.
The report claims that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was also keen in signing the midfielder last summer following his impressive performances with the national team in the 2016 European Championships.
It’s fair to say that Moussa Sissoko has not set the Premier League alight since his move to White Hart Lane on the final day of the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman moved from Newcastle United to Tottenham for a fee believed to be around £30million but he has only made 23 Premier League appearances and he has failed to score or assist a single goal.
Football Insider verdict
Not too many Tottenham fans will lose sleep over Moussa Sissoko’s departure from the club. What will come as a surprise is that a club with the stature of Barcelona are considering taking the Frenchman off their hands. It’s true that the Catalan side need some fresh and younger faces in the midfield but there are surely better players available. Tottenham should be delighted if any team, let alone Barcelona, want to sign Sissoko and if the Spanish side are willing to pay the same or more than what Spurs dished out for the midfielder, Daniel Levy deserves a lot of credit.
