Tottenham transfer news: Two senior stars won’t be at club next season – sources

Tottenham stars Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso are unlikely to be at the club at the start of next season, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the Lilywhites will sanction departures for the duo if they receive appropriate offers in the off-season.

Ange Postecoglou’s side were open to offers for Gil, 23, and Lo Celso, 27, in the January transfer window.

Sources told Football Insider (16 January) that Spurs were willing to let Gil leave in the winter on loan amid a lack of game time under Postecoglou.

Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso set to leave Tottenham

Gil moved to north London for a reported £21.6million from La Liga side Sevilla in 2021 but looks set to leave the club permanently or on another loan this summer.

The Spaniard, who has made just 11 appearances this season, has been sent out on loans to Sevilla and Valencia since his move and his current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2026.

Well-placed sources told Football Insider last year (1 November) that Tottenham would have accepted a £15million bid for Lo Celso, whose current deal expires in June 2025.

He arrived for a reported £55million from Real Betis following a successful loan spell, but has become a fringe player under Postecoglou.

Tottenham

The Argentina international has made just four league starts this season amid injury issues and Yves Bissouma’s and Pape Sarr’s emergence into Spurs’ midfield.

Tottenham are already plotting new transfers for next season, with Football Insider revealing (29 March) that they have prioritised signing Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White and a new striker this summer.
