Agbonlahor: Aston Villa handed 'amazing' boost after confirmed news

A full Villa Park will give Aston Villa an “amazing” boost next season, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed the Villa players who have arrived in the last 12 months will have their game “lifted” by the presence of the crowd.

Sky Sports reported on Monday (5 July) the government have confirmed that sports stadiums will return to full capacity on 19 July – in time for the new Premier League season.

Aston Villa’s senior sids played in front of fans at Villa Park once last season – their 2-1 win over Chelsea on the final day.

They also won their away game against Tottenham by the same scoreline in front of 10,000 fans days before the Chelsea game.

Asked what impact supporters can have next season for Dean Smith’s side, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It will be amazing for them.

“For the new players, they’ve come to Aston Villa and they will have heard about a full Villa Park so it will be nice for them to see 45,000 fans on their side.

“It’s just nice to see the players now will be able to witness that.

“It will help up their game when you’ve got a full Villa Park cheering them on.”

Aston Villa signed five players last summer who became mainstays in the side but are yet to play in front of a full Villa Park.

They have also signed Emiliano Buendia this summer for a club-record fee that could rise to £38million with add-ons.

In other news, four Aston Villa stars may not be around on the first day of next season.
