Agbonlahor fumes as controversial Ramsey footage emerges from Aston Villa - 'It stinks'
The decision to disallow Danny Ings’ goal as Aston Villa lost 1-0 to Man United last night (10 January) “stunk of typical big-six bias”, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer insisted the referee and VAR officials “need to give some answers”.
Ings had a goal ruled out in the 50th minute after an elaborate free-kick routine.
Jacob Ramsey was stood in an offside position and was adjudged to have blocked Edinson Cavani.
It took over three-and-a-half minutes to come to the decision as they checked whether Ings was onside and if he had handled the ball.
“It stinks of typical big-six bias,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It happened when I played in the Premier League and it still happens now.
“There was no reason for that goal to be disallowed. Jacob Ramsey has stood still. Blocking someone is when you’re moving towards someone to stop their run. Jacob Ramsey has stood still. Cavani should try and move away from Ramsey.
“Also, Cavani wouldn’t have got to the ball and he wasn’t offside anyway.
“It doesn’t make sense to me. They were looking at VAR for every possible way of disallowing the goal.
“Even a lot of the fouls on the night. Fernandes was booting McGinn, booting Targett and not getting booked. Villa players were getting booked on their first foul.
“It stunk of a typical referee who is known for loving the big sides. I thought we were past that now.
“The referee and VAR officials need to give some answers, they can’t get away with that. Aston Villa were the best team on the night and deserved to definitely go through.”
