Agbonlahor issues '100 per cent' verdict on Raphinha downing tools at Leeds United

Raphinha has “100 per cent” had his head turned but will not give up on Leeds United and their battle for Premier League survival, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Raphinha knows he will not be at Elland Road next season.

The 25-year-old lost his composure during his side’s 2-1 loss to Arsenal on Sunday (8 May) when his teammate Luke Ayling was sent off after VAR reviewed his challenge on Gabriel Martinelli.

As quoted by Leeds Live on Tuesday (10 May), Jesse Marsch insisted he loved the Brazilian’s “passion” and viewed his actions as “total investment” to the cause and not that he is distracted.

The winger has been Leeds’ standout player this season with 10 goals and three assists in 33 top-flight games but he has only found the net twice since the turn of the year.

“Raphinha looks like he is losing his head a little bit in games,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I think his head has definitely been turned and 100 per cent in his mind he knows he’s leaving.

“But he will want to do his best for Leeds in the Premier League although you can definitely tell his head has been turned.

“It’s looking like a risky situation for Leeds and there’s every chance they go down themselves.”

Raphinha is set to enter the final two years of his contract and Leeds will be vulnerable to losing him this summer, especially if they are relegated to the Premier League.

Marsch’s side go into Wednesday’s (11 May) game with Chelsea 18th in the Premier League level on points with Burley in 17th with three games left to play.
