Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Newcastle United to launch a move for Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Villa captain claimed the midfielder will have plenty of Premier League offers if he decides to leave Villa Park this summer.

Hourihane said on international duty, as relayed by Birmingham Live, last week (3 June) that he will "probably" leave the club in search of regular game time.

The 30-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with Championship play-off finalists Swansea City.

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce brought the Republic of Ireland international to Villa and Agbonlahor suggested a reunion may be on the cards next term.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I think he’ll definitely have offers.

“It depends what he wants to do. I think he’ll come back for pre-season, speak with the manager and take it from there.

“If he was to leave, he’d definitely have offers and there would be Premier League clubs after him.

“You look at the likes of Brentford, Newcastle. Steve Bruce knows him well. You look at Norwich Watford, the teams that have come up. They would love to have him in their team.

“He won’t be short of offers. I just hope he gets the move that’s right for him.”

Hourihane featured in just four Premier League games last term before making the move to Swansea.

The Cork-born ace scored five goals and provided two assists for the Swans who narrowly missed out on promotion.
