Raphinha 'looking' to quit Leeds as multiple clubs race to sign him - pundit

Leeds United would get relegated from the Premier League without Raphinha, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Raphinha is a “cut above” Leeds and will look to quit the club.

The winger scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season in the Whites’ vital 2-1 win at Norwich City.

The Brazil international has now scored 10 times and provided nine assists in 40 Premier League games since signing for the Yorkshire giants in October 2020.

Sunday’s game was just Leeds’ second top-flight win of the season and puts them three points above the relegation zone.

And Agbonlahor has insisted Raphinha is the only reason they are not in the bottom three.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I’ve said it many times but without Raphinha, Leeds would get relegated this season.

“He’s the only bright spark going forward. Dan James, poor again. Jack Harrison, poor again. Rodrigo did OK. It was only a mistake that won the game for Leeds [against Norwich].

“But Raphinha, he’s a cut above Leeds. He’s going to look at moving and there’s going to be a lot of clubs around Europe looking for his signature because he’s outstanding.

“He can win games on his own. Leeds need to keep him fit because he’s the one that’s going to get them the results to keep them in the Premier League.”

A Liverpool source told Football Insider (October 13) Raphinha is one of three Leeds players being monitored by the Anfield giants.

The Merseyside clubs are also keeping tabs on young goalkeeper Illan Meslier and midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
