Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Rangers are preparing for life without Glen Kamara after completing the signing of John Lundstram.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed the Gers would be "buzzing" if Kamara stays at Ibrox.

Fellow midfielder Lundstram signed a three-year deal with the Glasgow giants earlier this month after leaving Sheffield United.

Football Insider revealed at the beginning of March Rangers value the 25-year-old at £10million.

That was before his impressive performances for Finland at the European Championship.

The Athletic's Jordan Campbell reported today (17 July) Premier League sides Watford and West Ham are both admirers of Kamara.

Asked whether Lundstram's arrival points towards Rangers planning without Kamara, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: "100 per cent.

"Rangers have to qualify for the Champions League so Steven Gerrard will want to be prepared for that. He won't want to be ill-prepared and then Kamara leaves before that game.

"You have to get the back-up in and then before the transfer window's closed and you have to sell him you know you've got the player in already.

"It's a good bit of business by Rangers and I'm sure they'd wish him the best if he left. But if he didn't leave and he stayed, they'd be buzzing."

Rangers signed Kamara from Dundee in January 2019 for just £50,000.

He has scored four times and provided five assists in 106 games across all competitions for the Scottish giants.
