Agbonlahor tips Helander to seal Premier League move and land Rangers £2.5m profit
There will be a lot of Premier League clubs interested in signing Filip Helander from Rangers this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Aston Villa striker delivered his verdict after the Light Blues' asking price for the Sweden international was revealed.
Football Insider understands Rangers will demand a fee of at least £6million for the towering centre-back.
It comes after he was linked with a move to English top-flight duo Leicester City and Aston Villa by Aftonbladet in his native Sweden.
The Glasgow giants are set to cash in on at least one of their star players this summer to help raise funds for signings and bumper contract renewals.
They are confident of making a healthy profit on Helander who signed from Italian outfit Bologna for £3.5million less than two years ago.
He has played a key role in Rangers' title win and their progression to their final 16 of the Europa League.
Asked whether there will be Premier League interest for the 27-year-old if he is available for £6million, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “100 per cent.
“For that sort of fee, there will be a lot of Premier League clubs looking at him. It’s only £6million.
“But money’s tight because of the pandemic. Teams will only go for him if they need him.”
Helander has played 45 times for Rangers across all competitions in almost two full seasons at Ibrox.
He also has 15 Sweden caps under his belt and is set to play a key role in this summer's European Championships.
