Harry Winks should reject any potential move away from Tottenham, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed the 25-year-old should wait to see what happens with manager Jose Mourinho before making a decision on his future.

He has made just 10 appearances in the Premier League this season, including seven starts, and has featured just once in the competition since January.

Asked whether Winks should leave his boyhood club in search of regular first-team football, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I’m not sure, you know.

“He can be sitting there in two months time and Mourinho has been sacked and he could have another go at it with a new manager.

“I don’t think Winks will be looking to leave yet. I think he will see what happens with the rest of the season, see what happens with the manager and decide his fate then.

“He’ll do everything he can to stay at Spurs.

“But maybe if Mourinho is the manager next season he does leave. Until that is decided I think he waits and sometimes you have to bide your time because managers do get the sack and you get another go.”

Winks has played 24 times across all competitions this season with the majority of his minutes coming in the Europa League.

He averages a pass completion rate of 90 per cent across the season and completed 96 per cent of his passes in his last game against Dinamo Zagreb, according to Wyscout.
