The agent of Roma goalkeeper, Alisson, has stated that his client is happy with the Italian side and is not looking for a move elsewhere.
Brazil’s international shot-stopper, 25, had been touted as a replacement for Simon Mignolet, who has long been known for his costly errors and mistakes.
It was thought that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp considered the Roma stopper the perfect solution to their gaffs between the sticks.
However, after an interview with Italian publication Pagine Romaniste, it would appear that Alisson will not be making a move to the Premier League.
Asked about the Liverpool offer Ze Maria said in the Italian media: “Up to now I have not been contacted by anyone.
“He (Alisson) still has three and a half years left on his deal, We are not in a hurry and Alisson is happy in Rome.”
The stopper has only conceded 14 league goals and is a key member of a Roma side who are 5th in Serie, in hot pursuit of the Champions League places.
Football Insider verdict:
If Liverpool are ever going to make any kind of championship challenge then they need a stopper of world-class quality and Mignolet is not it. The Reds have, for a long-time needed to resolve their issues in the final line of defence and yet Jurgen Klopp fails to rectify this fact time and time again. Alisson is without a shadow of a doubt the sort of player they ought to be looking at signing. In reality, the Brazil stopper could potentially bring them an extra ten points per season – making a significant difference to their final league position. This could be the agent making an attempt to increase the value of his player but we think that once more, Klopp will stick with Mignolet.
