Agent: Striker will choose Newcastle over European runners-up

The agent of Newcastle attacker Siem de Jong has revealed that the player has had no contact with Fenerbahce and that he wants to remain at St. James Park
Football Insider reported on Monday that the Dutchman’s two-year Newcastle nightmare could soon be over amid interest from the Turkish side.
However, De Jong’s agent Louis Laros told Caught Offside that no contact has been made by the club as of yet.
It was reported on Monday stated Turkish giants Fenerbache were keeping tabs on the target man but were reluctant to meet Newcastle’s £6.75million asking price.
The Holland international signed for the Magpies on a six-year deal in 2013 from Dutch giants Ajax, but his time in Tyneside has been plagued by numerous injuries which has reduced his playing time to only four starts for the club.

De Jong scored his first goal for Newcastle during a losing cause against Swansea in April 2015, but with the player featuring on only 22 occasions for Rafa Bentiez’ side the club have been forced to look for other options after relegation last term.
Former Real Madrid boss Bentiez took charge in March, but could not prevent the club’s inventible fall into the second-tier.
The Spaniard has since signed Premier League striker Dwight Gayle from Crystal Palace for a fee believed to be in the region of £10 million, which has reduced de Jong’s chances of breaking into the first team.
In other Newcastle news, they have agreed a deal with a defender as Benitez’s overhaul continues.
