Agent: Goal machine keen to be at Celtic for three years
By Harry Sykes
Mousa Dembele will be at Celtic for the entirety of his four-year contract, according to the superstar striker’s agent.
Mamadi Fofana, who is the representative as well as close friend of the prolific forward, insists that Dembele’s plan is to remain at Parkhead until 2020.
The France Under-21 international has emerged as one of the most sought after young players in Europe on the back of a sensational campaign for Celtic.
Dembele scored his 27th goal of the season in Celtic’s win against Motherwell at the weekend and has ousted Leigh Griffiths as the first choice spearhead in Brendan Rodgers’ side.
The Frenchman’s form has led to a stampede of interest from Europe’s super clubs and ex-Celtic midfielder Craig Burley has even claimed that it is “nailed on” that Dembele will complete a £40million summer transfer to Chelsea.

The player himself is refusing to get carried away with the intense speculation that surrounds him.
“Moussa doesn’t stress,” said Fofana to the Daily Record. “He signed a four-year deal at Celtic and, in his head, he’ll be at Celtic for those four years.
“If he has to leave, that will happen at the right time, but it’s not in Moussa’s head or my head.
“In January, there was speculation, but there will always be speculation if he does well.
“It’s good. It means we are all doing well. The boy is doing well, Celtic is doing well and we as agents are doing the right things for everyone.
“If Celtic ever wants to sell Moussa, it will be a common decision which is taken between everyone.
“But, at the moment, I can be no clearer in saying there is absolutely no discussion between me and Celtic about Moussa leaving in the summer or even next January.”
Ex-Scotland international Burley, who played for Celtic and Chelsea during a glittering career, is convinced the 20-year-old will prove to be only a one-season wonder in Scotland.
Speaking as a pundit on ESPN, Burley said: “Scottish football is quite embarrassing at the moment in terms of the standard but he is head and shoulders [above the rest].
“He’s a good player and is young. Chelsea, I’m hearing, are the favourites. Talking to one or two guys I know back in Scotland, they said he is pretty much nailed on to go to Chelsea and possibly for around £40m.”
Dembele has been a goal machine since moving to Celtic when his contract had expired at English Championship outfit Fulham last summer.
The big clubs will have been especially impressed by some outstanding performances in marquee matches, most notably in the Champions League and Old Firm encounters.
In other Celtic news, Dembele’s agent has explained why he joined the Scottish giants in the first place.
