Striker reveals Tottenham 'beast' he wants to battle before he retires
Adebayo Akinfenwa spoke of his disappointment over not playing against Victor Wanyama last season, when Tottenham met Wycombe Wanderers.
In an interview for SoccerAM, Akinfenwa revealed he would love to be able to test his strength against Wanyama, after correctly guessing that Wanyama was the strongest midfielder in the Premier League according to FIFA 18.
“He’s a beast,” Akinfenwa proclaimed.
“He didn’t play against us when we got them last year, and I wanted him to be there.
“I’d love to test myself against Kompany (Vincent), Wanyama, you just want to have the battle and be like, let’s see how strong they are.”
The striker revealed he was “gutted” about the midfielder missing Spurs’ game against Wycombe last January.

However, Akinfenwa revealed he still hoped to play against him before he retires.
Spurs played Wycombe Wanders in the FA Cup third round last season, and only narrowly beat the League Two side, winning 4-3.
Akinfenwa is the strongest player in Fifa 18, with EA Sports giving the striker 98 strength.
Wanyama is the strongest Premier League midfielder according to the game with a 93 rating.
The Spurs midfielder has only made two appearances for his side across all competitions this season.
Wanyama has been sidelined since picking up a knee injury while preparing for the game against Burnley in August.
The midfielder is set to miss Tottenham’s second game against Burnley this season, as his side meets them on Saturday.
When the sides first met in August at Wembley, the game ended as a 1-1 draw with Chris Wood’s grabbing a goal for Burnley in the final minutes.
In other Tottenham Hotspur news, Paul Merson has made his prediction for the game with Burnley.
