Alex Iwobi revealed his delight on Twitter after scoring Arsenal’s second in their 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The 20-year-old winger was on hand to head home a loose ball in the penalty area, as he looped the ball over helpless goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to double the Gunners lead.
Posting on his personal Twitter account, Iwobi labelled the win as a “great way” to celebrate the new year as the Gunners moved up to third in the Premier League.

Iwobi started in a lethal front four with Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez that dominated Sam Allardyce’s side at the Emirates Stadium.
The deadlock was broken in the first half, with Giroud scoring a spectacular scorpion kick that cannoned off the crossbar and into the goal.

Nigeria international Iwobi doubled the lead, despite Palace defender Martin Kelly’s attempts at trying to keep the header out which saw him head the ball onto his own crossbar and in.
Just his fifth goal for the Gunners, Arsenal’s number 17 has now made 44 appearances in all competitions under Wenger including a handful of Champions League outings.
The Gunners next face Bournemouth on Tuesday, as they look to pile the pressure onto second placed Liverpool with three points separating the two sides.
