Trent Alexander-Arnold is no longer part of Arne Slot's plans at Liverpool despite suggestions of change of heart, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that the Reds have already moved on and are preparing for life without the 26-year-old next season.

As a result, the possibility of him remaining on Merseyside has been labelled "the biggest U-turn ever", with no road back after how his contract situation has played out.

Instead, Football Insider revealed on 21 April that the Liverpool star will announce his Real Madrid move soon despite having publicly kept his cards close to his chest.

Sources say Madrid are confident they have agreed the deal for him to sign on a free transfer and link up with England teammate Jude Bellingham at the Bernabeu.

England goalkeeper Paul Robinson also told Football Insider that Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid is done and everyone at Anfield knows it.

Liverpool eye Alexander-Arnold replacements after Madrid latest

Football Insider revealed on 12 April that Liverpool are lining Conor Bradley up to replace Alexander-Arnold when he makes the move to Madrid.

The 21-year-old will be given the chance to prove himself in Slot's team despite an injury-riddled season, in a bid to nail down a starting spot.

This comes after former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in November that Liverpool see Bradley as the ideal replacement.

However, concerns about that injury record has also forced the Reds' recruitment team to consider potential options in the transfer market this summer.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong is on their radar, and Slot is said to be an admirer of his fellow countryman, but no firm decision has been made yet.

Harvey Elliott update emerges after Arne Slot latest

Alongside Alexander-Arnold, another player who has been tipped for a move away from Anfield this summer is Harvey Elliott, given his lack of playing time under Slot.

Brown told Football Insider on 26 April that Premier League clubs are queuing up for Elliott and are keeping a close eye on his situation at Anfield.

The England Under-21 international has started just four games across all competitions this season, leading to speculation about his long-term future.

Football Insider revealed on 21 March that Elliott, 22, has been disappointed with his playing time since Slot arrived and would be open to a move away.
