Amazing? Pundit lambasts six 'rubbish' Man United big names who 'never do enough'

Frank McAvennie has launched a scathing attack on some Man United players as the club again lost in the Premier League.

The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, singled out six players for extra criticism.

Man United lost 2-0 to Man City on Saturday, meaning they have only won one of their last six games.

They have now conceded seven goals without reply in their last two games at Old Trafford.

McAvennie is not shocked by this development as he claims Man United actually have a poorer squad than people realise.

“Everyone is saying Man United have all these great players,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Do They? Ronaldo, Cavani, yeah I get that. But after that, amazing? You have lots of players who can be good but they aren’t most of the time.

“They never do enough, they might do one bit of skill and that’s it.

“Pogba only turns up when he wants to. Fred is nowhere near the standard.

“The attackers like Rashford and Greenwood are ok but they are always in and out of form.

“Look at the defence. Shaw and Maguire were good at the Euros but they have always been poor for Man United.

“That’s not a squad of amazing talent like Man City or Chelsea. They are rubbish.”

Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Fred and Mason Greenwood all started in Saturday’s derby loss.

Marcus Rashford came off the bench while Paul Pogba served his suspension after being sent off against Liverpool.
