'Wouldn't look out of place hung up in a museum' - Wolves fans rave about one man v Cardiff

Wolverhampton Wanderers pulled a step closer to confirming the Championship title on Friday night with a 1-0 win away at rivals Cardiff.

Incredibly, the Bluebirds had two stoppage-time penalties but could not take advantage, missing both to hand Nuno Espirito Santo’s side a massive boost in the battle for title success.

In the aftermath of the game Neil Warnock was distinctly unhappy with the way that his counterpart celebrated and when the Portuguese manager attempted to apologise, the Sheffield native flung some choice expletives at him.

But that was not to overshadow the display of one Wolves player, Ruben Neves, who has taken the Championship by storm since his arrival from FC Porto last summer.

The 21-year-old scored a superb 67th-minute free-kick from outside the left of the box, to put his side five points from a return to the Premier League.

It was the mainstay’s fifth goal for the Molineux outfit in 36 outings with one assist to boot.

But it is his ability to break up the play as he acts as a linchpin between defence and attack that has really caught the eye this season.

It’s no surprise that his form has captured the attention of Manchester United but judging by the reactions of the Wolves faithful to their player post-match, they want him to stay.
