'Ancelotti's had Enough' - Whelan rips into 'Shocking' Everton outfield star pre-United
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has “seen enough” from the “shocking” Alex Iwobi, according to Noel Whelan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Leeds United striker claimed that it is time for others to be given their opportunities after the 24-year-old “failed” to take his.
Iwobi dropped to the bench for Sunday’s trip to Newcastle after a disappointing display at Southampton a week earlier saw him hauled off at half-time.
Even though first team regulars James Rodriguez and Richarlison missed out through injury and suspension respectively, Iwobi was only afforded 13 minutes of action at St. James’.
This season the attacking midfielder, who cost £27million from Arsenal in August 2019, has contributed one goal and two assists in his eight appearances across all competitions.
When asked by Football Insider if Iwobi’s omission from the starting eleven could spell the end for his Everton career, Whelan said:

“Iwobi has had his opportunities and he has failed to take them up to now.
“When you do not take them you fall down the pecking order. That is what has happened to Alex Iwobi.
“His performance against Southampton was shocking. He was brought off at half-time and rightly so.
“You do not get too many chances at life in general and football is no different.
“Unfortunately, Ancelotti has seen enough and he believe there is others that deserve their opportunity now.”
