Kevin Phillips claimed “any player in the world” would be interested in joining Everton after Real Madrid star Isco was linked with a move to Goodison Park.
The 2000 European Golden Shoe winner, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, is adamant that Carlo Ancelotti can help the Toffees land the “fantastic” 28-year-old in January.
The Daily Mirror claim Isco is keen to leave the Bernabeu and reunite with former Real Madrid colleagues Carlo Ancelotti and James Rodriguez.
The Spain international has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane and it is reported that the La Liga giants would be open to Isco leaving on loan in January.
Phillips suggested that the “big influence” of Ancelotti could lure the four-time Champions League winner to Goodison Park.
“It would be a fantastic signing,” he told Football Insider.
“It just goes to show the pull of Carlo Ancelotti.
“Any player in the world watching the start that Everton have made this season and watching the football they have played would be interested in joining them.
“They have got some great players – Rodriguez, Allan, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is on fire, and one of the best managers in the world.
“For a player of that calibre to want to join your club, if I am an Everton fan I would be excited.
“A lot of it has to do with the manager, he would be a big influence if Isco ends up at Goodison Park in January.”
In other Everton news, Kevin Campbell can’t believe how good summer signing has been this season.
