Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

Antonio Conte could walk out on Tottenham just days before the start of next season.

That's according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Italian's next move.

Conte’s future is uncertain as he has continuously refused to confirm that he will be at Spurs next season.

Tottenham

McAvennie has suggested Conte could wait until the start of next season before deciding whether to leave.

"It's all on Levy, he has to back up what he has promised," McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

"But how many times has he not done it? There is a worst-case scenario here.

"Conte could stay all summer in the hope new players arrive but if they don't he could just walk away at the start of the season.

"I think a decision will have to be taken before then. It should be so easy.

"Just give him the money. Tottenham have the money, it's just whether they will give it to him.

"I don't know why they wouldn't but it always seems to happen with every manager.

"God knows who they will get if Conte walks away."

Tottenham

Tottenham are next in action against Newcastle on 3 April.

The Magpies are so far unbeaten at the TOttenham Hotspur Stadium.
