Alan Hutton has suggested Antonio Conte will quit Tottenham at the end of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back said that if Conte had real intentions of staying in London he would have tied up his contract situation by now.

The Italian's contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium expires in June that includes the option of an additional 12 months.

Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League but 18 points off league leaders Arsenal and were recently put out of the FA Cup by Championship side Sheffield United.

Last week, Conte's side were put out of the Champions League by AC Milan as they prepare for another trophyless season.

As quoted by the Guardian after the defeat (8 March), Conte said he will wait until his contract ends to decide his future but suggested that the club might sack him before the end of the season.

When asked if Conte's exit is becoming inevitable, Hutton told Football Insider: "A few months ago I would have said 'no'.

"But I'm led to believe with the way he is talking and everything that is coming out, it seems like he could go.

"For a guy like that to run a contract down, it does not normally happen and it is a bit strange.

"All the things that he is saying, that he is not happy with certain things. He is a winner but he needs the players to win alongside him.

"It seems a strange situation so I have got a feeling that he will leave at the end of the season. If not, why would he not just tie up his contract now and move forward?"
