Kevin Campbell is adamant Calum Chambers is “not the answer” for Arsenal at right-back long-term.
The former Gunners and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said the 26-year-old should instead be sold this summer and replaced by a more “versatile” full-back.
Chambers was handed a rare start on Sunday, as Mikel Arteta’s side recovered from a 3-0 deficit to draw at the London Stadium.
A game of two halves today.
Unacceptable start to the game but we showed great character in the second half to come back, disappointed not to come away with a win! pic.twitter.com/A5NMP4fkpK

He was a constant thorn in West Ham’s side in the second-half, with a fizzed cross forcing Craig Dawson into an own-goal on the hour-mark.
Over the 90 minutes, Chambers won 88 per cent of his defensive duels, attempted nine crosses and created three shooting opportunities. (Wyscout)
However, Campbell suggested the end is nigh for the English defender who is approaching the final year of his contract at the Emirates.
“No, we still need to sign a right-back in the summer,” he told Football Insider.
“Callum Chambers is not the answer. He had a good game against West Ham and fair play to him.
“But he has been at the club a long, long time and he has not proven to be the answer at right-back over all of these years. He is not all of a sudden the answer now.
“We need a player who is versatile so no, I do not think Chambers is the answer long-term.
“I think if Arsenal are serious, the likes of Chambers have to be sold.”
