Arsenal fans go into meltdown after Wenger selection against Liverpool
By Matt Farr
Arsene Wenger has dropped Alexis Sanchez from the Arsenal starting XI to face Liverpool on Saturday – and fans on Twitter are in meltdown.
Sanchez has been by and large Arsenal’s best player this season, leading from the front in terms of goals and assists, and fans cannot understand why he has been dropped to the bench for a game of such importance.
Wenger instead picked Olivier Giroud to lead the line against Liverpool, with the team confirmed via the club’s official Twitter account.

Sanchez has scored 20 goals and supplied 16 assists from 34 appearances in all competitions this term.
But Arsenal fans on Twitter believe his absence for the full 90 minutes could hinder them significantly in their bid to snatch three points away at Anfield.

Mesut Ozil was also omitted from the starting line-up, but there is no place for the German on the substitutes’ bench after coming down with illness earlier in the week.
The clash is a must-win fixture for both sides, with just one point separating the two sides in the Premier League table.
A title challenge is all but out of the question, but a place in the top-four is very much at stake, and both sides will be looking to take advantage from Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth earlier on Saturday.
Arsenal can go level on points with north London rivals Tottenham with a win.
In other Arsenal news, Ian Wright does not believe Mesut Ozil is being utilised correctly.
