Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to post their reactions to the news that Tony Adams has reportedly been appointed the new manager of La Liga outfit Granada.

The 50-year-old has shocked the football world by being appointed after Lucas Alcaraz’ sacking this morning.

The news was announced on the Sky Sports Twitter page but there hasn’t been an official announcement from the club yet.

The former Arsenal captain has previous management experience in Azerbaijan and with Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth.

However he has been employed by Granada prior to becoming manager, serving in an advisory role at the club, since their takeover by Chinese investors, DDMC, in 2016.

Granada currently sit 19th in La Liga, and look on the verge of being relegated as they are seven points off safety with just seven games to go.

Adams made an incredible 669 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners between 1983 and 2002, and he also scored 48 goals from centre half.

He was also capped 66 times for England, scoring five goals, and is the only player to date to represent England in a major tournament in three different decades.

Arsenal fans have reacted, mainly in confusion, to his appointment.
