Kevin Campbell has urged Arsenal to sign Youri Tielemans as Leicester City field a £19million bid for their former skipper.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 25-year-old would be a good fit for the Gunners amid injuries to Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with the midfielder all summer and Football Insider revealed last month (18 July) that Tielemans is keen on a move to the Emirates.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the ex-Monaco star, who has made five appearances so far in the new campaign.

Campbell insisted the Belgium international is a "top-quality player".

He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think Arsenal have to do some business there.

“It’s been going on all summer with Tielemans, and I think now Arsenal are quite depleted with the injuries – it’s something they should get done.

“He fits into that midfield and this side really well – he’s a top-quality player.”

Arsenal have already moved for one central midfielder this summer - Porto star Fabio Viera.

However, injuries to Partey and Elneny have left the Gunners' midfield threadbare - with Ainsley Maitland-Niles reportedly also set to complete a loan move to Southampton.

The transfer window slams shut at 11pm on Thursday (1 September).
