Arsenal have joined the race to sign Brazilian left-back Douglas Santos, according to a report.
Brazilian publication Hoje em Dia, cited by A Different League, have linked the Londoners with a move for the Atletico Mineiro full-back.
Football Insider reported on Wednesday that Liverpool are keen on the Brazilian after failing with a bid for Leicester youngster Ben Chilwell.
Santos, who is a full Brazil international would be available at a price of £7.7million, according to Daily Mirror.
The defender has recently picked up experience of playing European football with Udinese and has also attracted reported interest fromw Spanish duo Barcelona and Valencia.
Santos has become a regular for Brazilian outfit Atletico Mineiro, playing 52 times for them in total, and was rewarded by his national side when he earned his first international cap this year.
As reported by Football Insider, Arsenal are prepared to offload Kieran Gibbs this summer as they eye up a new left-back this summer.
Academy graduate Gibbs is a long-standing member of the Gunners’ first-team squad but has two years remaining on his contract and has not yet been offered a new deal.
They are also keeping close tabs on Chilwell as well as Fulham emerging star Ryan Sessegnon.
