Kieran Maguire touts major Arsenal investment on signings after 'crucial' Kroenke talks

The only way the owners at Arsenal will ever win back the trust of the supporters is through significant investment.

That is according to finance guru and Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively after Josh Kroenke’s visit to North London last week.

The key powerbroker visited Arsenal’s training ground and talked with players as well as attending the 2-0 win over Brighton last Sunday, reports the Athletic.

Arsenal fans are furious with the KSE regime for their role in the foiled European Super League plot and demonstrations were held yet again on Sunday.

Maguire claims Kroenke’s visit to North London, his first since early 2020, was a PR move and that he needs to back it up by opening his chequebook.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “I think it’s a diplomatic move from Josh Kroenke. I do think it’s a sign of reaching out.

“However, I don’t necessarily think it will have gone down particularly well with the fanbase.

“But Arsenal did go on a good run towards the end of the season. I think supporters will note the action but what they want to see is further evidence of investment.

“That’s going to be crucial to win over what we already know is a very disillusioned fanbase.”

Arsenal finished 8th in the Premier League this season, their worst finish in over 25 years.

They did, however, finish the campaign strongly and won their last five league matches.

In other news, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta “will be interested” in the Barcelona job as reports emerge.
