Kieran Maguire names the 'one thing' keeping Kroenke at Arsenal after Sky reveal

Stan Kroenke could think about pulling out of Arsenal if not for the enthusiasm and commitment of his son.

That is the view of finance boffin Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about recent remarks made by Josh Kroenke.

He revealed to Sky Sports on 7 November that the club is not for sale and that “we are just getting started”.

The Gunners have been the subject of a very public takeover campaign from Swedish billionaire Daniel Ek over the past six months.

But KSE, Stan Kroenke’s holdings company, have persistently knocked back any talk of regime change.

Maguire suggests that might not be the case if not for Josh Kroenke’s apparent passion for the club.

“There is no doubt that there is profit potential at Arsenal,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams

“But Josh Kroenke definitely does seem keen for the club to be successful on the pitch as well as off it.

“From a succession point of view, it could be that his dad is willing to continue the investment.

“If he is as enthusiastic about Arsenal as he claims to be, then he could be around for a long-term basis.

‘If Stan was thinking about an exit route from a financial point of view, this could be the one thing that keeps him invested.

“Then it is really a case of choosing what funding model they want to pursue over the long term.
