Arsenal tipped to seal 'statement' striker signing with £100m bid ready - Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Arsenal to follow up the potential signing of midfielder Declan Rice with a “statement” deal for a top striker this summer.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Gunners could suffer if injury problems for Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah resurface next season.
Sources told this site on Friday (31 March) that Arsenal have made England’s Declan Rice their first-choice midfield target this summer – with West Ham set to hold out for bids of £100million+ for their star man.
The Gunners could head into the off-season as Premier League champions for the first time since 2003 after building a healthy lead to challengers Man City.
Jesus and Nketiah have led the line for Mikel Arteta’s side this term, with goals from wingers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli supplementing their title charge.
Folarin Balogun is also expected to return to Arsenal from his successful loan at Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “They can go out and get Rice, and that will be a statement in itself.
“But they need a top striker, for me, as well.
“When you’re in the Champions League and all these other competitions – three top strikers would be great.
“Gabriel Jesus has had injury problems, Eddie Nketiah has had injury problems – that could hurt them if it happens again.
“Go out and get another one, make a real statement to the rest of the league.
“If you look at Liverpool, they’ve got a load of good options in that front three – and they will be there or thereabouts next season.”
