Campbell: Arsenal tipped to sell Mavropanos despite his amazing loan stats
Arsenal may look to sell Konstantinos Mavropanos despite his excellent season out on loan.
That is according to ex-Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider with the 23-year-old centre-back shining at Stuttgart.
The 6 ft 4 in Greece Under-21 international is the fifth-best in the Bundesliga for defensive duels won per 90 minutes with 9.89.
He is also the third-best for aerial duel success with 71.43 per cent (Wyscout).
William Saliba, signed from Saint-Ettiene for £27million in 2019, is also out on loan with Nice in Ligue 1.
Campbell highlighted the depth Arsenal have at centre-half and suggested that both players might find it hard to find a place in the starting XI upon their returns.

He told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs: “I don’t know just yet whether he’s going to have a big future at Arsenal. Going on loan is sometimes difficult. The manager has sent him out on loan and he’ll be watching.
“He is doing well at Stuttgart but he’s got a lot of experienced players ahead of him.
“There’s another loan player [Saliba] who cost £27m who’s also doing really well in his native France.
“You’ve really got to look, could he be a piece that you look to sell? Or could he be a piece who you could incorporate because he’s gained in experience?”
Saliba joined Nice on loan in January after failing to make a single appearance throughout the first half of the season.
For 11th-place Nice, the 19-year-old has started 11 times in Ligue 1.
In other news, Matteo Guendouzi’s time at Arsenal is all but over.
