Mikel Arteta set to agree stunning 'seven-year' Arsenal deal
Mikel Arteta is set to agree a lucrative new Arsenal contract until 2033 as all parties work towards announcing his new deal before Christmas.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who thinks that Arteta's new contract is likely to be announced during an international break.
Arteta is in the final year of his current deal at the Emirates Stadium after signing an extension back in September 2024.
He defied the pressure from fans and neutrals to deliver silverware last season, yet doubts have lingered around his contract situation given how close it is to expiring.
Fans can rest assured that him penning an extension is considered a formality, with the club keen to tie him down for another six years.
He is also reportedly in line to become the Premier League's highest-earning manager upon signing a new long-term deal.

Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and signed Arteta for the Toffees – thinks the Gunners will pick one of the upcoming international breaks to announce his new contract.
The Spaniard is known to be content at the Emirates despite their lack of extensive investment in his squad in the recent summer transfer window.
He could pen fresh terms until 2033, by which point he would have been in the job for over 13 years after being appointed in December 2019.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness explained: “The way it is going to work, I think, is that before Christmas we will see this resolved. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s sooner rather than later.
"Probably in an international break, I think it may be resolved. I would expect him to sign a contract through to 2033."

Arteta is keen to add more quality to his attacking ranks after missing out on the likes of Vinicius Junior, Morgan Rogers and Julian Alvarez.
Recent reports have claimed that the Gunners are planning to move for Bournemouth star Kroupi in January, after he burst onto the scene with 13 league goals last season.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Bournemouth have no plans to let Kroupi leave midway through the season, particularly as he is only set to return from a foot injury in late October.
