Arsenal have to pay extra £10m for Jack Hinshelwood after masterclass vs Aston Villa - verdict
Arsenal could now end up paying over £60million if they want to bring in Brighton and Hove Albion star Jack Hinshelwood before the transfer window closes.
This comes after the 21-year-old attacking midfielder netted a sensational brace against Aston Villa in a stunning 4-0 victory on Sunday.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with the England Under 21 international and have reportedly made direct contact with the player’s representatives over a potential deal.
A bid is reportedly being prepared, and while Brighton would prefer to keep him, it was believed that a bid within the range of £43m to £51m could be accepted.
However, his recent performance against Aston Villa could see Brighton’s asking price rise by another £10m.
Hinshelwood showed the rest of the Premier League the talent he possesses in what was a sensational performance against a Champions League outfit.
How good was Jack Hinshelwood vs Aston Villa?
Hinshelwood no doubt had one of the best games of his career against Aston Villa.
The midfielder ran riot at the AMEX Stadium to get Brighton off to the best possible start to the season.
Both of his goals were expectedly taken to put the hosts in a commanding lead in their Premier League opener.
According to Fotmob on 23 August, he completed 93 per cent of his passes, had a 1.43 xG, had three shots, with two hitting the target, created one chance, had five touches in the opposition box, won all five of his ground duels and won two fouls before being subbed off in the 64th minute.
As a result, based on The Sun’s report on 14 August, Arsenal could now have to pay as much as £61m if they want the midfielder before the transfer window closes.
Brighton are notoriously tough negotiators, and they will no doubt raise their asking price after the recent performance.
However, it remains to be seen if Arsenal would be prepared to pay more money for Hinshelwood after his recent display.
Who else could Arsenal sign this summer?
In recent weeks, Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.
The striker has shone at Galatasaray and has attracted plenty of interest this summer transfer window.
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Osimhen is keen to join Arsenal this summer as the club explores the possible conditions of a transfer.
However, it remains to be seen what business Arsenal will complete before the transfer window slams shut on 1 September, with plenty of twists and turns expected.
