Arsenal have emerged as the odds-on favourites to secure a dramatic late deal for Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez.

This comes amid reports that the striker is considering whether a potential move to the Gunners would be right for him as the capital club continues to refuse to sell to Barcelona.

Now, one UK bookmaker has placed the odds of Alvarez securing a move to the Emirates this summer at 4/5.

The Argentina international has not reported for training for the past two days due to illness amid the ongoing speculation about his future.

The 26-year-old was also booed off by supporters on Sunday during Atletico’s 2-2 draw against Villarreal.

Alvarez has had his heart set on a move to Barcelona, but a move to the Spanish giants now seems incredibly unlikely.
