Arsenal are now the odds-on favourites to secure a sensational deal for Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior this summer transfer window.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the 26-year-old winger over the past week, in what could be a real statement buy for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that intermediaries are dealing with preliminary negotiations for Vinicius Junior in hopes of luring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Now one UK bookmaker has slashed the odds of Arsenal completing a deal for the Brazil international down to 10/11 ahead of the new season.

The winger has just one year left on his deal at the Spanish giants, which has put pressure on the club to sell their star winger.

The Brazil international scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions last season, and could soon become the biggest signing of the summer across world football.

Vinicius Junior would be a massive statement signing by Arsenal

Despite winning the Premier League and getting to a Champions League final last season, Arsenal have not had a great transfer window to date.

So far, Christos Tzolis and Illan Meslier have been the only new faces through the door at the Emirates, with many of their title rivals heavily improving their squads.

Morgan Rogers, who was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, moved to Chelsea earlier this month, while the club still have not landed Bruno Guimaraes.

Therefore, if they can secure the signing of Vinicius Junior this summer, it would be a massive statement and would show the rest of the Premier League that they are ready to defend their title.

However, it remains to be seen if Arsenal are able to get a deal over the line in the coming weeks.

Will Arsenal also sign Bruno Guimaraes this summer?

Newcastle captain Guimaraes has also been heavily linked with the Emirates in recent weeks.

Negotiations have took place through intermediaries throughout most of July, with the Brazil international keen to move to the North London club.

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Newcastle are likely to accept a bid of over £80million for Guimaraes this summer.

However, it remains to be seen if the Gunners are prepared to pay this much to secure the signature of the 28-year-old.
