James Chester has been named in this week’s EFL team of the week after giving a commanding display in Aston Villa’s 1-0 win over Derby on Saturday.
The 28-year-old gave a dominant display in his side’s back four, helping his team keep a clean sheet while also scoring the winning goal.
The summer signing was named in an eleven man team alongside the likes of Brentford’s Jota and Jamie Murphy from Brighton, as shown by the English Football League’s official Twitter account.

Chester made the switch to the Championship club from Midlands rivals West Brom in the summer.
He has since played in 33 matches for the club in all competitions and is considered one of the better signings the club has made in recent times.
Having established himself as a regular in Steve Bruce’s back-line he will now be keen to ensure he can help the Midlands giants improve on their low 17th placing.
The club will face Bristol City at Villa Park next on Tuesday and Chester will be looking to impress once more with the south west side also struggling in 21st.
A win for Bruce’s team could take them up to 15, but a defeat could see them fall as low as 19th.
