'Absolute quality', 'Class act' - Aston Villa fans rave over maestro in draw v Leeds

Aston Villa fans have taken to social media to rave over the display of Jack Grealish after he appeared as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Leeds United on Friday night.

The Villans were 1-0 down at the break thanks to a header from Swedish international Pontus Jansson, and were still behind 20 minutes after the half time break when manager Steve Bruce chose to bring on both Henri Lansbury and Jack Grealish for Josh Onomah and Conor Hourihane.

It seemed to be an inspired move from the former Hull City boss, as the substitute pair linked up for the ex-Nottingham Forest midfielder to rifle past Felix Wiedwald in the Leeds net, the ball deflecting off the inside of the upright and into the back of the net to secure a point for the Villans.

However it was the display of midfield maestro Grealish which left the Villa faithful purring, turning to Twitter to pay credit to the impact he had on the game and insist he starts in their next outing.

Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Grealish has just four Championship appearances under his belt for Villa this season after being sidelined due to a kidney injury which forced him to undergo surgery just before the start of the current campaign.
