Aston Villa fans have reacted with delight on Twitter following Jonathan Kodjia's stunning goal for Ivory Coast on Friday.

However, supporters are also worried that big clubs are going to come in for their star striker in the summer after a series of impressive displays both with club and country.

The 27-year-old opened the scoring in a 2-0 win over Russia at the Krasnodar Stadium after a strong run down the left wing before cutting inside and hammering the ball into the far corner of the net.

Wilfried Zaha scored the other goal to give Marc Wilmots' side the win.

The two sides were taking part in an international friendly match ahead of Russia hosting the 2018 World Cup.

Kodjia was earning his ninth cap for the Elephants since he made his debut for them a little under a year ago in a goalless draw with Hungary.

He failed to score during his nation's miserable Africa Cup of Nations campaign in early 2017 as his side were dumped out of the competition after they failed to win a single group game.

Here is a selection of tweets from Villa supporters about Kodjia's goal:

The ex-Bristol City striker has the chance of earning his 10th cap when the Ivory Coast host another friendly match against Senegal on Monday.

With 15 goals in 30 matches for Steve Bruce's side this season, Kodjia has asserted himself as one of the club's key players in their recent performances, and the Ivorian striker has found the net on four occasions in Villa's last five matches.
